Lin Wan, blessed with a naturally high fertility rate, takes a job as a maid in the Zhou family, the wealthiest household in Hangcheng, to support her five younger siblings.

When Zhou Sichu's mother eventually arrives and demands that Lin Wan divorce her son, he finally makes his feelings clear. In front of the entire family, he tears up their prenuptial agreement and declares, “All my assets are your dowry.” What began as a marriage of convenience gradually becomes a love neither of them can walk away from. Perhaps they did not meet too late after all—their hearts had already been moved long before they realized they had fallen in love.
