The story begins unexpectedly when Xue Wanyi suddenly stumbles into the private room of the mysterious Xu Jingchuan after losing a game while drunk with friends and was challenged to "find a random private room and ask a man for his belt." This random intrusion completely alters the course of Jingchuan's life, disrupting his predictable routine and turning her into a constant fixture in his world.
Xu Jingchuan is surrounded by hidden dangers and possesses a complex web of enemies. Despite his calculated and sometimes intimidating exterior, he harbors a deeply protective nature. After stepping in to save Xue Wanyi from danger multiple times, their lives become permanently intertwined. While Xu Jingchuan attempts to keep his dark dealings hidden to shield her innocence—telling her that “some things are better left unknown”—Xue Wanyi’s vibrant, sunflower-like warmth slowly melts his guarded exterior.
The narrative explores a profound, fated connection between the main characters, Xue Wanyi and Xu Jingchuan. Its title is inspired by classical imagery where the sunflower actively re-orientates itself toward the sun, which also serves as a metaphor for an unwavering, devoted heart that remains constant despite changing seasons or external hardships.
